Special Features/Comments: This park is in the heart of Boone accross from Jaycee Park. It is home to over 200 native flowers and plants. The garden club that maintains the space requests a two dollar donation upon arrival, though the main house is not consistently occupied with a volunteer to collect it, there is a drop box. It is ADA accessible from the Rockery entrance. They recommend close toed shoes and, due to all the delicate native plants, do not allow dogs. There is a publicly accessibly port-a-potty as well, or the Strawberry Hill Arboretum accross the street has a restroom as well.
GETTING THERE:
pDriving Directions: From Blowing Rock Road, turn onto Horn in the West Drive, after arriving at the stop sign, turn right.
ADA accessible from the Rockery entrance which can be accessed by following around the garden and turning left onto the sidewalk at the stop sign and heading back down the main hill to the next left (a flat gravel pathway before the Hamptons Funeral Services parking lot and large red brick building).
kParking Instructions: You can park in the lot directly next to the Gardens, immediately after you turn right after the stop sign (accross from Strawberry Hill.)
lBus Route: The Purple, Express, Pop 105 Appalcart routes all stop at Highland Ave. From here, one has to walk up the Horn in the West Dr. hill approximately .2 miles to reach Strawberry Hill, The Native Gardens or Jaycee Park.

Trail Description: This is a short shaded trail that has many seating options, with both paved and unpaved sections and a small section of stairs. As you move through the Garden, there are descriptions of each of the plants. There is also many benches to sit and enjoy the space. They are open May-October, as the plants become dormant in the winter. During the off-season the gates are typically stay open, as well.
