The Northampton Slave Quarters and Archaeological Park features the foundations of two former slave quarters. Known as Northampton, this past plantation was established by Thomas Sprigg in 1673. A paved path leads to four self-guided interpretive signs and the former foundations. Learn how archaeologists worked with local descendants to uncovered the history of enslaved and free African Americans who lived in these quarters from the 1790s to 1940s.
